Wheatland Ferry Operating Status

The Wheatland Ferry is currently operating it’s extended-hours schedule, 5:30 AM to 9:45 PM daily.

The ferry suspends operations when the Willamette River stage reaches 16'.

The above National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration — National Weather Service river stage plot is the latest published by the Northwest River Forecast Center.

The NWRFC also publishes a text version of Willamette River stage readings taken at 15-minute intervals in Salem.

Marion County now offers an awesome new way to help you plan your commute! You can receive automatic email notification of unscheduled Wheatland Ferry closures due to mechanical problems, planned maintenance, high or low river levels, and other problems.

Subscribe to the Wheatland Ferry List by sending an email to Marion County Public Works.

Leave the subject portion of your email blank.

List your e-mail address in the body of your message, along with the message that you would like to be added to the Wheatland ferry emergency notification list.

Send an email subscribing for each of your email addresses so that you receive the Wheatland Ferry status messages wherever they might be most useful; for instance, your home, work, laptop, palm pilot, cell-phone, and the like.
